Mathan Maglaya is a photographer, filmmaker, and blockchain governance participant with a background in healthcare and public health. He began his career as a nurse before pursuing a Master of Public Health, specialising in Health Systems and Governance. His experience in public health strengthened his ability to see complex systems that require interoperability and functionality, skills that later influenced his approach to blockchain governance.

While working in public health, Mathan rekindled his passion for photography and videography, eventually starting his own business in the creative industry. In 2021, he discovered blockchain technology and recognised its potential to revolutionise various sectors. Drawn to Cardano’s research-first approach, he immersed himself in its ecosystem and took on the role of a Delegated Representative (DRep) to contribute to its governance and long-term development. Through his diverse experiences, Mathan bridges creativity, governance, and technology to shape the future of decentralised systems.
